National and international trade, commercial and transportation law
German-Japanese trade relations have been successful for many years. However, "cultural competence" is of particular significance when dealing with Japanese business executives. Business relations fail far too often, not least due to cultural misunderstandings and a lack of understanding of the unwritten rules of behaviour.
We would be happy to assist you in the legal structuring of trade relations – both in market entry in Japan as well as in the expansion of existing Japanese business relations. We will find you the right legal and economic solution for every situation, and provide you with our expert assistance on matters both inside and outside the courthouse.
With the cooperation agreement between our law office and the Japanese Nakaso Law Office in Osaka, Japan, we are able to offer you legal services optimized on Japanese-German legal matters.
Since the beginning of this year, Inés Jakob has been studying Japanese law alongside her occupation. In doing so, she is able to apply her understanding particularly in terms of comparative law, especially when answering questions pertaining to the applicable law, jurisdiction clause, etc.
Inés Jakob has over ten years' worth of Japanese language skills, and is at level 3 of the former Japanese-Language-Proficiency Test (JLPT). She also provides consultation for Japanese clients as well as legal support in Japanese.
We also work together with Mrs. Masako Mitsch B.A. Mrs. Mitsch has many years of experience in the field of German-Japanese understanding, and is assistant professor at the Institute for Japanese studies at the Friedrich-Alexander University Erlangen-Nuremberg.
If necessary, we will commission a specialist translator for more extensive documents and those intended for the courts, or a specialist interpreter for meetings with contractual partners or opposing parties.
